This introduction to biostatistics presents this challenging topic in a readable and enjoyable format that assumes no prior knowledge of the subject. It is designed to quickly prepare the reader to understand test selection and be able to evaluate biomedical statistics critically and knowledgeably.

The primer begins with the basics, including analysis of variance and the t-test; then it advances to multiple comparison testing, contingency tables, regression, and more. Examples from the current biomedical literature illustrate key concepts throughout the book. Discussion of relative risks and odds ratios, more on multiple comparison testing (e.g., the Holm test), a new two-color design, and review questions within each chapter are new to the sixth edition.
