Our commitment to privacy

Your privacy is important to us. To better protect your privacy, we provide this notice explaining our online information practices and the choices you can make about the way your information is collected and used. To make this notice easy to find, we make it available via a link at the bottom of almost every page on our Web site.

Information we collect and how we use it

When you sign up for an ACCP.com account, we ask you for personal information (such as your name, your e-mail address, and an account password). For certain services, such as our online bookstore, we also request credit card or other payment account information which we maintain in encrypted form on secure servers.

We use the information you provide about yourself when placing an order only to complete that order. We do not share this information with outside parties except to the extent necessary to complete that order or for one-time use by carefully selected members and companies that offer products and/or services that may be of interest to you. In addition, ACCP may, from time to time, use this information to provide you with information regarding offerings that may be of interest to you. E-mail addresses are not shared with outside parties.

Cookies

When you visit ACCP.com, we send one or more cookies – a small file containing a string of characters – to your computer that uniquely identifies your browser. We use cookies to improve the quality of our service by storing user preferences and tracking user trends. Most browsers are initially set up to accept cookies, but you can reset your browser to refuse all cookies or to indicate when a cookie is being sent. However, some ACCP.com features and services may not function properly if your cookies are disabled.

Log information

When you use ACCP.com, our servers automatically record information that your browser sends whenever you visit a Web site. These server logs may include information such as the Web page you requested, your Internet Protocol address, your browser type, your browser language, the date and time of your request, and one or more cookies that may uniquely identify your browser.

User communications

When you send e-mail or other communications to ACCP, we may retain those communications to process your inquiries, respond to your requests, and improve our services.

Information sharing

We may share with third parties certain pieces of aggregated, nonpersonal information, such as the number of people that visited a certain area on our Web site or a percentage of people who clicked a link in an e-mail. Such information does not identify you individually.

Information security

We take appropriate security measures to protect against unauthorized access to or unauthorized alteration, disclosure, or destruction of data. These include internal reviews of our data collection, storage and processing practices, and security measures, as well as physical security measures to guard against unauthorized access to systems where we store personal data.

We restrict access to personal information to ACCP employees, contractors, and agents who need to know that information in order to operate, develop, or improve our services. These individuals are bound by confidentiality obligations and may be subject to discipline, including termination and criminal prosecution, if they fail to meet these obligations.

Accessing and updating personal information

You may view and change the personal information you have on file with ACCP via the My Account page.

Choices for personal information

ACCP offers its members the ability to prevent personal contact information (primary mailing and/or billing address and phone number) from appearing on the ACCP.com Web site. To do so, please visit the Communications Preferences page.
