ACCP Annual Meeting PRN Travel Awards
In addition to ACCP Resident/Fellow Travel Awards, the following PRNs also provide travel awards to defray costs associated with attending the ACCP Annual Meeting. Please see below for more information about each travel award, including eligibility and application deadlines.
Critical Care PRN
Description
The Critical Care PRN will award a travel grant in the amount of $1,000 to partially support the costs associated with travel and attendance for one critical care fellow or resident to the 2010 ACCP Annual Meeting. The travel award recipient will present their project as a brief platform presentation at the Critical Care PRN Business & Networking Forum.

Eligibility/Application Requirements
Eligible candidates must meet the following criteria:
- Be a current member of the Critical Care PRN.
- Be completing, or have completed in the past year, postgraduate training in a critical care residency or fellowship program under the direction of a Critical Care PRN member.
- Have an abstract accepted for presentation at the 2010 ACCP Annual Meeting. For applicants who have completed training within the past year, the research being presented must have been a project completed during their residency or fellowship program.
Each resident or fellow may submit only one abstract for consideration for this award. Only abstracts submitted in response to this call for abstracts and for the purposes of this award will be considered by the PRN Travel Award Committee (i.e., you must submit an abstract even though ACCP has already accepted it. The abstract need not be identical to the one accepted by ACCP if additional data are available since the time of the original submission, but it must relate to the same project).

Endocrine and Metabolism PRN
Description
The Endocrine and Metabolism PRN will award a travel grant in the amount of $500 to support the costs associated with travel and attendance for one resident member to attend the 2010 Annual ACCP Meeting. Payment is dispersed to the recipient after the ACCP Annual Meeting. Attendance at the PRN Business Meeting and Networking Forum is highly encouraged.

Eligibility/Application Requirements
Applicants must be resident members in the ACCP Endocrine & Metabolism PRN. Recipients can only receive an award once (i.e., while either in their PGY1 or PGY2 residency year). Applications should include the following items:
- A statement of why the applicant is involved with Endocrine and Metabolism PRN and how attending the meeting will assist in the applicant’s career/residency goals.
- A current copy of the applicant’s CV, highlighting professional organizations and community service.
- A letter of recommendation must be received from the applicant’s current residency director (PGY1 or PGY2) or past residency director (PGY1).

GI/Liver/Nutrition PRN
Description
The GI/Liver/Nutrition PRN will award a travel grant in the amount of $500 to support the costs associated with travel and attendance for one trainee (or a member who has recently completed postgraduate training). The travel award recipient will be required to present his/her abstract as a brief (~15 minutes) platform presentation at the GI/Liver/Nutrition PRN Networking Forum and Business Meeting on the evening of Monday, October 18th.

Eligibility/Application Requirements
To be eligible to apply the award candidate must meet the following criteria:
- Be a current member of the GI/Liver/Nutrition PRN (nonmembers interested in this award are encouraged to join).
- Be currently completing training, or have completed training within the past two years, in a residency, fellowship, or graduate training program, under the mentorship of a member of the GI/Liver/Nutrition PRN.
- Have an abstract accepted for presentation at the 2010 ACCP Annual Meeting.
- For applicants who have completed training within the past year, the research being presented must have been a project completed during their residency or fellowship program.
Each applicant may submit only one abstract for consideration for this award. Only abstracts submitted in response to this call for abstracts for the purposes of this award will be considered by the PRN Travel Award Committee (i.e., even though ACCP has already accepted the abstracts, applicants must also submit their accepted abstract to apply for the award). The abstract submitted for the travel award should be identical to that accepted by ACCP.
Submissions will be evaluated and scored by a panel of evaluators. This award will be preferentially granted to current residents and fellows submitting an abstract.

Hematology/Oncology PRN
Description
The Hematology/Oncology PRN will award a travel grant in the amount of $750 to support the costs associated with travel and attendance for one resident or fellow to attend the ACCP Annual Meeting.

Applicants should e-mail the Chair of the PRN describing their level of interest in Hematology/Oncology, as well as their objectives for attending an ACCP national meeting (e.g., professional interaction, attending educational sessions, presenting a poster).

Immunology/Transplantation PRN
Description
The Immunology/Transplantation PRN will award a travel grant in the amount of $500 to support the costs associated with travel and attendance for one resident or fellow to the 2010 ACCP Annual Meeting.

Eligibility/Application Requirements
Applicants must submit an abstract in any of the following categories: Original Research, Clinical Pharmacy Forum, or Resident and Fellow Research-in-Progress.
In order to be eligible to receive travel support, the applicant must meet the following criteria:
- Be current member of the Immunology/Transplantation PRN.
- Have a research abstract accepted to the Transplant/Immunology specialty section for the Annual ACCP meeting.
- A resident/fellow at the time the research was conducted.
- Submit no more than one abstract for this award.
- Not have received the award in the previous three years (for future years).
- Be willing to present his/her poster as a brief platform talk at the Cardiology PRN Business & Networking Forum to be held during the same meeting as when the poster is presented.

Infectious Diseases PRN
Description
This is an award for up to $1000 to provide an opportunity for a PGY1 or a PGY2 pharmacy resident or fellow to present and promote their current research efforts to the ACCP infectious diseases PRN. This award will go toward registration and travel expenses to the Fall Annual ACCP meeting.

Eligibility/Application Requirements
Eligibility:
- Must be an Infectious Diseases PRN member
- Research must have content related to the practice of infectious diseases
- Project must be initiated during the residency/fellowship
- Research can include but are not limited to observational studies, implementation of new services, practice issues, adherence, etc.
- Projects may be in progress, close to completion or completed
- Must be a PGY1 or PGY2 resident or fellow
- Must be accepted as a poster or platform presentation to the ACCP Fall Annual Meeting 2010
- Must present poster at the Fall ID-PRN business meeting
Application Procedure:
- Submit completed application to the Chair of the Infectious Diseases PRN Awards Committee (Chair-Elect of the ID-PRN)
- Submit research project summary including a budget
- Submit current CV
- Research project summary should be no more than 5 pages

- Anticipated impact or importance to patient care or infectious diseases practice.

Pharmacokinetics/Pharmacodynamics PRN
Description
The Pharmacokinetics/Pharmacokinetics PRN will award a travel grant in the amount of $750 to support the costs associated with travel and attendance for an eligible fellow or graduate student to the 2010 ACCP Annual Meeting. This travel award has been instituted in the memory of M. Kelli Jordan. Kelli completed her residency training at the National Institutes of Health and had just begun her Pharmacometrics Fellowship at the University of Buffalo with Dr. Alan Forrest when she was diagnosed with cancer. Kelli passed away in December 2001.

Eligibility/Application Requirements
Applicants must currently be a fellow or graduate student in pharmacometrics, pharmacokinetics, pharmacodynamics, pharmacogenomics or clinical pharmacology at the time of the award. Applicant’s abstract must be accepted for presentation at the 2010 ACCP Annual Meeting (new research or encore presentation), and is research in pharmacometrics, pharmacokinetics, pharmacodynamics, pharmacogenomics, or clinical pharmacology. The recipient will attend and present his/her research project at the Pharmacokinetics/Pharmacodynamics PRN Business Meeting and Networking Forum, being held on Tuesday, October 19, from 6:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Applications should include the following items:
- A copy of the submitted abstract.
- A current copy of applicant’s CV.
